About this title in Hebrew

An art book that records an extensive journey throughout Israel, including eye-opening and challenging texts written by Meir Wigoder, Avner Ben Amos, Hannan Hever and Yael Shenker.

Born in kibbutz Merhavia, Drora Dominey is an artist working mainly in sculpture and teaches at Bazalel Art Academy. She has exhibited widely in Israel and abroad. Many of her sculptures are on display in Israel.

France Lebee-Nadav was born in Paris and now lives in Israel, working as a photographer and also teaching photography. She has exhibited in Israel and abroad.

"A striking, stylish and restrained album... Both their quality and their cumulative record portray our national memory and national consciousness and the way in which the environment reflects the Israeli experience of loss."

Ha'aretz

"The intelligent photography and well executed printing create an unprecedented cultural document."

Yedioth Ahronoth

"Photographs of dozens of monuments amidst heart-wrenching landscapes forcibly beg the necessary question, if an entire society was not built here on the basis of the wrong ritual. Those who dreamt of growing into a rational reality and living a civilian life of humble territorial ambitions can, for the time being, take up the book and between one page to the next ponder on the question that Dominey and Lebee-Nadav have placed at culture's door."
